Installation instructions for GoldPack programs.

The Goldpack programs use SQL-Net to communicate with Oracle. SQL-Net
must be installed on the machine prior to using any of the Goldpack
programs.

Installing a Goldpack program involves placing it into a directory and
then making an icon for it in program manager or the start menu in
Win95. The Goldpack programs all use the Oracle Call Interface built
into SQL-Net to communicate with Oracle. No other interface is
required.

Troubleshooting SQL-Net: Oracle includes a program called nettest.exe
or oraping.exe with SQL-Net to test your installation. If you have any
problems connecting to Oracle with a Goldpack program, use nettest or
oraping to make sure that your SQL-Net installation is working.

The gvw1610.zip package contains the following files:

  install.txt	This file.
  license.txt The license file.
  register.txt	Information about registering.
  GoldView.exe	The GoldView executable.
  GoldView.hlp	The help file.

You must have the 16 bit Oracle SQLNet client installed to run GoldView.
GoldView links directly to the SQLNet via the Oracle Call Interface (no
ODBC.)

Copy GoldView.exe and GoldView.hlp to any directory on your hard drive (I
usually put them in c:\orawin\bin.) Orawin/bin must be in your path
(this is part of the SQLNet install.)

Make an icon for GoldView.exe.

That's it!

You must read and agree to the License.txt file before using this
program.

Please enjoy GoldView and email me if you have any questions or comments.
Please register if you use it after 30 days!

Thanks,
Mark Ford
